Celebrating 2 Years of Recipes Made Healthy!
Recipes Made Healthy turned 2 this month! Whether you've been here since the beginning, or just recently found this deliciously healthy recipe site, let me say thanks for being here.
When your career and one of your passions collide, it’s absolutely amazing! I have been a registered dietitian for more than 30 years. While I’ve worn many hats during that time (clinician, educator, public speaker, media spokesperson, cookbook author, and columnist), I found my true passion when I began developing recipes. For nearly two decades, I wrote a weekly healthy recipe column in the Detroit Free Press.
For the past two years, I’ve been bringing that passion for cooking, my love of food, and nutrition expertise to Recipes Made Healthy by Darlene Zimmerman, MS, RD. I launched this Substack newsletter on March 20, 2022, kicking things off with one of my favorite appetizer recipes — Spinach Artichoke Dip. The vision for this site is simple: to be your go-to, trusted resource for great-tasting, healthier recipes that you and your family will crave. Check out this video for a sneak peek at what I’ve been cooking up for the past two years.
You can easily find all the recipes in this video and lots more using the Recipe Index tab in the navigation bar. Recipes are organized by categories and contain direct links. If you’re looking for an hors d’oeuvre to take to a party, check out the Appetizers, Snacks & Beverages section. Spinach Pie Bites and Layered Greek Dip are definite crowd pleasers. Need a vegetable side dish to serve with dinner tonight? Try my Sticky Sesame Cauliflower Steaks found in the Vegetables section. If you’re craving something sweet, my Key Lime Pie recipe is under Desserts. With more than 100 recipes (and growing every week), I’m sure you’ll find lots of things to enjoy.
To my subscribers, THANK YOU so much for being here! I know that you literally have thousands of recipe blogs and websites to visit, and the fact that you subscribe to this one means a lot to me. Darlene
