Whipped Feta Dip
This whipped feta appetizer is creamy and rich, with just the right amount of tang. Served with fresh vegetables, pita wedges, or crackers, it’s the easiest dip you’ll ever make!
Scrambling for a last-minute appetizer idea for tonight’s festivities? I’ve got you covered. This whipped feta dip is probably one of the easiest hors d’oeuvres I’ve ever made, and dare I say, one of the most delicious. The base of the dip consists of just four ingredients – feta cheese, cream cheese, Greek yogurt, and a splash of milk. This creamy, whipped feta spread is then topped with a savory sauce made with thinly sliced green onion, fresh parsley, and minced garlic tossed in a simple vinaigrette.
One trick for making this dip extra creamy is to use feta cheese from a block instead of crumbled feta. Ingredients like powdered cellulose are often added to crumbled feta to prevent the crumbles from sticking together. As a result, the crumbles tend to have a dryer texture and can be a bit more difficult to puree into a silky, smooth consistency.
This dip pairs really well with a variety of fresh vegetables – carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, celery, snap peas, or broccoli florets are just a few ideas. Pita bread wedges, crackers, or toasted baguette slices are great accompaniments as well.

WHIPPED FETA DIP
Yield: 8 servings
Serving Size: about 2 tablespoons dip
Prep: 10 minutes
Ready: 15 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1/2 tablespoon fresh-squeezed lemon juice
1 clove minced garlic
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
3 tablespoons thinly sliced green onion
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
4 ounce block feta cheese, crumbled
1/4 cup (2 ounces) reduced-fat cream cheese
1/3 cup plain low-fat Greek yogurt (such as FAGE Total 2%)
2 tablespoons 1% milk
DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir in green onion and parsley and set aside.
In the bowl of a food processor fitted with the “S” blade, add feta cheese, cream cheese, and yogurt and blend. While processor is running, drizzle milk through the top opening and continue to blend until feta mixture is whipped to a creamy consistency.
Transfer whipped feta to a serving plate. With the back of a spoon, spread dip into a 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch layer creating grooves (indentations). Spoon green onion and parsley topping over dip, allowing it to fill the grooves. Serve with fresh vegetables, pita bread wedges, crackers, or toasted baguette slices.
