Darlene, I love this recipe. I eat quesadillas on a regular basis and found this recipe is delicious enough to use as a dip with tortilla chips as well. I love being able to use the slow cooker especially with beans. Thank you!

Chris, I’m so glad you liked the slow cooker refried black bean recipe. I love using dried beans because they’re so inexpensive and I can keep the sodium content in check. And, the slow cooker makes preparation so easy. I don’t have to think about soaking the beans overnight or draining and rinsing them - just drop them in the slow cooker with the other ingredients and walk away. Good call on the bean dip - love recipes that do double duty 😊.

I made these the other day. I was surprised how easy they were and also how delicious. I use refried beans in a number of ways (burrito bowls, quesadillas, etc.) the nutritional numbers on this homemade version is so much better for any person but especially someone who is reducing fat and sodium! Thank you for the great recipe 🤩
